A couple more hours logged into the MQ Fett V3

Concept Fett helmet Version 3

Well I have most of the V2 castings done and decided to start on the 3rd version based on another Ralph McQuarrie concept sketch of Boba Fett. I actually like this one alot it is a mix of the concept stormtrooper and Fett. I have about and hour into it. I cheated a little and am using my V2 as a base but the whole face needs to be sculpted from scratch.

I have a couple hours into this now and opted to go with and open mouth vs. the closed mouth that i had before. I think it represents the look of the character better,but from a sculpting standpoint it more difficult as now i will have to sculpt a mouth insert and teeth etc. but I think it will be worth it in the end.

I am beginning to do Chamberlain which is one of the Skeksis from The Dark Crystal which will be 1:1 scale.

Version 3 Concept Fett coming up!

I have scoured the internet of years and never saw this version of the Mcquarrie concept Fett. I really like this design it looks like a cross between the Stormtrooper and Fett.This will be my next helmet project.

This is the helmet made by DTR1 that i prepped and molded for him here is pics of the first casting painted by DTR1.

First Casting of the Versin 2 Concept Fett helmet

Mold came out awesome a few small imperfections and the seam line is really minimal.Now to trim one out and paint and assemble so we can see one finished.

Mcquarrie V2 Fett concept Helmet DONE!

I just finished this up finally and sprayed it with a epoxy primer which helps fill in any small scratches or blemishes and gives it a nice smooth exterior before molding.

Mcquarrie V2 final stretch

This last whole week was miserable with the temps reaching into the high 90's low 100's with extreme humidity,so molding anything was pretty much out of the question.So I decided to really tweak the helmet even more than I had before.Here are some pics of it.The pics arent that great but whats new.

I got this from a video posted on Entertainment weekly it was a comic con exclusive video shown at comic con. Nice looking helmet. I wouldnt mind doing it.

Blast from the past

Looking through some old Pics of stuff I did years ago I found this.Its a 1:1 baby ewok I did. I sculpted the head and molded it and hand haired it using craft fur and then for the body I used a cheap baby doll body I got from the dollar store.
