Where have I been for over a week?

Well we got nailed with over 3 ft. of heavy wet snow over night then it drifted up to almost 6 ft deep in some places.We were shoveling like fools for days and I finally had to rent a skid steer bucket loader to open up our 250 ft long driveway.
The pics below show how much snow we got and I had to moves tons of it.The pics dont look as impressive as it does in real life but the snow banks are upwards of 12 feet high and 15-20ft deep from front to back.And remember this was from 1 storm.

Clone Trooper bust Update

As with the previous Mangalore post I havent updated this either for awhile.This is finally so close to being done.Im basically tweaking some last minute things and will start the smoothing process.

Mangalore Update

Been a awhile since I posted an update on this. I have been pecking away at it for the last several days working on it here and there sometimes for small amounts of time.I am now at the stage where I will be roughing in some of the smaller details.

Tigris of Gaul helmet from Gladiator

 I have been wanting to do this helmet for some time.The original helmet used in the movie was sculpted over a french Gallet F1 firefighter helmet seen below.

After scouring online I finally found one on ebay for a decent price.most of the time you cant touch a used one for under $250.00 I got mine for $75.00.
So I busted out some clay and started building up the base of this helmet.Doesnt look like much now.I'm going to have to add alot of clay to the bottom to build the height I need. it'll be a cool project.

More Clone Bust Progress

So I had some friends look at this and they all agreed the spacing between the bottom of nose and top lip was to long on my sculpt.So I cut the mouth off and chin and moved them up about a 1/8"+. Now I think its about where it needs to be.Now Ill have to reshape and clean up around those areas.
I also need to work on the lips a little. I did reduce the length of the eyebrow as well.Still way off from being done but a definite improvement.The l;ips need to be fuller and I dont think we will get the full effect til I get this done and one painted.Still a ways to go.

More Clone Bust Progress

I added clay down on to the shoulders today and will now start doing some smoothing.Still have some tweaking to do on the face,around eyes and mouth etc.But its coming along well and Im happy with it so far.Here is where its at right now.
